Unexpected Gift

During Bible study last week, a friend casually mentioned that her parents are gifting her new appliances and did anyone need a stove or fridge. I’ve been in her house and knew that the appliances she was replacing were considerably newer than mine. So I said, “Yes! Me!”

The next afternoon her parents were so generous to deliver the stove, fridge and microwave to our house. Jeremy and William brought them in the house that night.

The new refrigerator is smaller than our old one. I hesitated about downsizing. Jeremy figures out that our fridge was purchased in 1996. He said a newer one would be more energy efficient. So we decided to just see if everything would fit in a smaller fridge. I was surprised that everything fit easily!

The microwave came to us not working. My friend’s parents almost wouldn’t give it to me because they were worried about anyone messing with an electrical issue. Jeremy looked at it this weekend, changed a blown fuse and it worked! And then he installed it! I was out of town on Saturday and was super surprised when he sent this picture.

Now, assuming our addition continues to move forward, I have newer appliances to move into the new kitchen. 😀
